Gletta was born in 1985, when the first foals by Gassi frá Vorsabaer 2 were born. She was started by Björn at Vorsabaer and was shown as a six year old at the regional breeding show in Hella. She received 7,68 for conformation, 8,03 for riding abilities, 7,86 as a total score. As for conformation the judges criticised her proportions (7,0), but her gaits were even and good, with 8,5 for flying pace as her highest score. Gletta was shown only once and has since then been used for breeding. In her career as a breeding mare there were two years when she was without foal, so she was shoed and used for riding, being very popular among the children and others on the farm.
